You see… Mama Maryann has made a very special request: she wants a murder mystery. Well, Mama Maryann gets what she wants, so, for one night only, we're transforming the bookshop into a 1920s-inspired speakeasy!

It's a typical night at Ruth's Speakeasy, where you can find the best moonshine and jazz singers in town. Gangsters, crooked cops, businessmen, and rising stars all gather under Ruth's roof, and everyone knows the rules: no business and no guns.

But tonight, those rules aren't enough to keep the peace.

Betrayal, vengeance, and greed threaten to tear the speakeasy apart, and before the night is over, one person will end up dead.

Was it the crooked police chief? The sultry jazz singer? A scorned woman?
Everyone has a motive. Everyone has secrets. And one of them is a murderer.

Join us as the evening unfolds and see if you can uncover the secrets, follow the clues, interrogate the suspects, and solve the mystery!

Seating is very limited and this is a ONE NIGHT ONLY engagement, so this is a ticketed event. Tickets are $30 per person and include:

• An exclusive after-hours experience in our speakeasy-themed bookshop

• An immersive murder mystery experience, delivered by professional actors

• Non-alcoholic* drinks and refreshments

*This speakeasy is strictly dry. VA ABC said so, and apparently they don't appreciate a little literary lawlessness. 😉

Come dressed for the occasion in your best 1920s-inspired attire. Think flapper dresses, suits, fedoras, pearls, fringe, and all the mysterious glamour you can muster. Costumes aren't required, but they're highly encouraged!
