Our Team

A man with a beard and bald head, wearing a beige patterned sweater and purple shirt, sitting in front of a black bookshelf filled with colorful books.

Cassell (AKA, “The Dogeared Dude”)

Affectionately known as “The Dogeared Dude,” Cassell is the heartbeat of the shop: running the floor, fixing what breaks, and keeping everything humming. When he’s not helping customers, you’ll find him diving into sci-fi epics or revisiting the classics.

A woman with curly brown hair, glasses, and red lipstick sitting in a green chair in front of a black bookshelf filled with colorful books. She is wearing a maroon dress, a green scarf, and black knee-high boots, smiling at the camera.

Katelyn

Katelyn handles our strategic planning, overseeing our events, marketing, social media, and inventory. In other words, she makes sure both the money and the shelves stay in good shape. Katelyn’s TBR list is a never-ending beast she has fully accepted as part of her fate, and she’s fairly genre-agnostic. She likes everything from classics and sci-fi to thrillers and horror.

Scarlett

A registered nurse turned bookseller, Scarlett is excited to be part of this new chapter alongside her daughter and future son-in-law. She’s our resident romance expert, especially when the plot leans dark… and she’ll never turn down a good Patricia Cornwell novel either.

A woman with shoulder-length brown hair and bangs, smiling, seated in a green chair in front of a bookshelf filled with various books. She is wearing a red sweater and black pants, with her right arm resting on the chair's armrest. A warm-colored lamp with stained glass shade is hanging on the wall to her right.

Maryann

A lifelong reader and registered nurse, Maryann brings her wide-ranging tastes and generous spirit to the store each day. She’s especially passionate about curating and caring for our used book room, where she believes every book deserves a second life.
