Bookseller's Choice (March) Book Club: The Man in the High Castle
Our Bookseller’s Choice Book Club is a true literary “grab bag” — a charcuterie board of compelling reads selected across genres by our bookselling team. Each month, we gather at the shop to dive into a new selection, sharing perspectives and lively conversation about the book and its themes.
For the month of March, we’re reading "The Man in the High Castle" by Philip K. Dick.
In this haunting work of alternate history, the Axis powers have won World War II, and the United States has been divided under totalitarian rule. As characters move through a fractured America shaped by propaganda, occupation, and quiet resistance, the novel explores unsettling questions about truth, authenticity, and the nature of reality itself. Layered, philosophical, and eerily relevant, "The Man in the High Castle" challenges readers to reconsider how history is written, and who holds the power to shape it.

Mystery/Thriller Book Club (April): The Decagon House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji
Join us for The Dogeared Page’s semi-monthly Mystery & Thriller Book Club! This month, we're venturing somewhere truly sinister.
Our April read is The Decagon House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji, a landmark of Japanese mystery fiction that sparked an entire revival of the classic puzzle mystery genre. First published in 1987, it follows members of a university mystery club who travel to a remote island to visit the Decagon House, a ten-sided mansion and the site of a gruesome unsolved mass murder. Then, one by one, they start to disappear…
Fiendishly plotted, scrupulously fair-play (all the clues are there if you know where to look), and building to a conclusion that will leave you reeling, this is essential reading for any fan of locked-room mysteries and golden age-style whodunits. (Fair warning: you'll want to take notes.)
Get together with your fellow mystery lovers for a lively discussion of the book: what worked, what didn't, and what clues you caught… or missed. Expect thoughtful conversation and different takes. All opinions are welcome here: we listen and we don’t judge.
There's no fee to attend, but we do encourage you to support the shop by purchasing your copy of the book from us. Can't make it in person or prefer a different format? We've got you covered — shop with us online to get what you need:
